none of the cookie-cutter nonsense.

The Freedom to Be Unique

Maybe you’ve seen those “all-inclusive” elopement or micro-wedding packages where you pick your details off of a set menu? Those might be the right fit for some couples, but you deserve more than the same modular elopement day as hundreds of other couples. Choose the details that actually mean something to you.

Experiences, Not just photos

Your wedding day is more than just a ceremony and some photos. Whether you have 2 guests or 200, your wedding day will be your wedding day for the rest of your life, and that means something. Let me help you craft a meaningful day full of experiences and adventures you’ll cherish forever.

Expert guidance, anytime

You’ve probably never planned a wedding or an elopement before, and that means you’ll have questions. It would honestly be weird if you didn’t. You never have to feel bad about asking a question or wanting to hop on a Zoom call to talk through your options. In addition to easy access to me, you’ll also have access to my rich library of planning resources.

Hey, I’m Leah

I’m here to make planning your elopement a breeze.

If a one-size-fits-all wedding day isn’t the right fit for you, it can be hard to find the resources and information you need to make your wedding day dreams a reality.

Luckily, you don’t have to go it alone.

I’m so much more than the person who shows up on your wedding day with a fancy camera.

In addition to custom location scouting and timeline creation, my clients have access to a rich library of elopement planning resources, vendor recommendations, activity ideas, and even help finding the perfect place to stay.

Let me help with:

  • Scouting the perfect location for your intimate wedding
  • Connecting you with other vendors who get it
  • Figuring out all of the little details like park permits
  • Crafting a custom timeline for your day
  • Making it official! I am a registered civil celebrant in VA!
  • Drafting the perfect language for telling your family to back off *

* (Just kidding. Unless you need that? I can totally do that.)

You’ve got Elopement Questions, I’ve Got Answers.

Don’t see the info you’re looking for?

Absolutely! Close to half of the couples I work with have elopements that don’t involve any hiking at all. Beautiful, exciting, and personalized elopements can happen anywhere.

First, let me say that’s totally normal! Most couples aren’t sure right off the bat. Reach out and tell me about what you’re dreaming up, and I can help you get an idea of what will serve you best.

The short answer is “anything you want!”

Just because you’re not having a huge wedding with 200 guests, that doesn’t mean that your wedding day is any less valuable or significant, or less worthy of being documented from beginning to end.

No two elopements or intimate weddings are exactly alike, but if you’d like to see a sample timeline of a full-day elopement timeline, you can download one here!

Short answer? We get wet!

Rain, fog, and snow are some of my favorite conditions to photograph in, honestly! When it comes to planning elopements, your backup plans have backup plans. Anytime you make nature a big part of your day, you need to build in a lot of flexibility, and so I make sure that we’ve got some awesome backup plans on standby.

Yes! Whether you’re getting married in your backyard or on the other side of the globe, I am here to help you find the perfect vendors for your big day.

If you’re getting married in a national park or on other public lands, you’ll likely need some sort of permit like a “special use permit” in order to have your ceremony or take photos there. During the planning and location selection process, I’ll help you figure out what permits are necessary and how to get them.

I am an authorized civil celebrant in the state of Virginia, and can legally sign your marriage certificate!

However, all I would do is sign the necessary legal paperwork, and so if you want to have an actual ceremony where the officiant does a reading and guides you through your vows, I recommend hiring an officiant.

Juggling cameras, capturing your intimate moments, and performing a moving wedding ceremony all at once? I’m good, but I’m not that good.

It’s important to me that those little pink icons up there are more than just some talk, and so here’s what I am doing to walk the walk.

  • I make a conscious effort to highlight and celebrate all different types of couples through my work and on my website. Because, despite what wedding websites would have you believe, most couples aren’t skinny, white, heterosexual people.
  • Flit Photography officially partners with One Tree Planted to plant trees around the world on behalf of all of my couples, as well as to offset the carbon emissions from my travel to and from elopements around the world.
  • I offer a 10% discount on all packages to vegan, LGBTQ+, and Black, Indigenous, and POC couples. Because sustainability, representation, and equity matter.
  • I have taken a course and been recognized by the Leave No Trace Center For Outdoor Ethics as a Leave No Trace Aware Photographer. This means that I have been trained on how to minimize our harmful impact on our shared public lands.
  • I have compiled a list of antiracism resources. This is a living document that I update periodically to reflect important information and resources.

If you have any questions, or ideas about how I can do more, please feel free to reach out.
