Portraits by Carly Romeo and Joyslin Sullivan

…(sounds like "Leia"... yes, like the princess) MacDaniel.  I was born and raised in Virginia, and will probably always call Richmond "home". When I'm not behind the camera, I work as a photography studio manager and social media director, and dabble in illustration and graphic design. In my free time, you can find me out birdwatching, obsessing over my houseplants, slurping coffees from around the world at my local roastery, curled up with a book about something weird like neuroscience or societal norms, or nerding out watching Star Trek or Dr. Who and snacking on burritos with my husband, Mac.

Some things that are very important to me personally include Feminism, Minimalism, and Sustainability. In fact, my husband and I are working toward our goal of being zero-waste, and are at the very beginning of the process of converting a retired school bus into a minimal, traveling tiny house! I have been vegan since 2012, and see that as an extension of my commitment to compassion, equality, and sustainable living.

My current favorite authors are Malcolm Gladwell and Daniel Levitin. My all-time favorite TV show is Pushing Daisies, with Firefly coming in a close second. My favorite musical artists right now are First Aid Kit and Lady Gaga, but I’ve pretty much never met a folk or bluegrass band I didn’t like. Yes, I know Lady Gaga isn’t exactly bluegrass…

I think that being familiar and comfortable with your photographer is about 50% of the equation when it comes to creating images you’re going to love. So please feel free to email me with any questions you might have for me, and check out a little bit more on my philosophies surrounding wedding photography and portraiture!

Where are you located?

Flit HQ is in Richmond, VA. but I frequently work in the Philadelphia, PA area and all up and down the east coast. I am available to travel worldwide.

Do you have packages with two photographers?

All of my pricing is a la carte, but you can add a second shooter to any wedding photography package over 6 hours! I recommend a second shooter for weddings with 125+ guests.

Where can I find your pricing information?

Here’s a link to my Wedding Photography Pricing, but send me an email to discuss your specific needs. Most celebrations will start around $3,000. Pricing for portraiture is less standardized, but my most popular session is $250.

How long does it take for me to get my photos back?

My standard turnaround times are 8 to 10 weeks for weddings, and 2 to 4 weeks for portrait sessions.

Will you do studio portraits?

No, I am not offering studio portraits at this time.

Will you send me a USB drive with my photos on it?

No. All of my finished photos are delivered electronically. From within your electronic gallery, you will have the option to download the full-resolution files for any photos you’d like, and even order prints directly from the gallery! All galleries are hosted online for 10 years.

Will you send me the RAW files?

No. Part of the decision to hire a professional photographer is selecting a photographer whose judgement you trust and whose editing style you enjoy.
